Edgar the Aetheling

Aetheling or prince. Edgar due to politics, age and inexperience was passed over in favour of Harold II as king of England. He was the great nephew of Edward the confessor and should have been king but following the conquest he fled to Scotland then Flanders. He fought for Robert Curthose against Henry I in 1074, finally to be captured in 1106 then released soon afterwards.
