Constantine II

King of Scotia ( 900 - 943 ) First king of the whole of Scotland. He was at constant war with the Vikings. In an alliance with Irish Vikings and the king of strathclyde, he did battle with king Athelstan at the battle of Brunanburgh where he was defeated. He took the unusual step of abdicating to became a monk. He died in 952.
