Colman St

A monk from Iona in Scotland ( d 679 ). Born in ireland he became the bishop of Lindisfarne ( Holy Island ) in 661 and was the defender of the Celtic church at the synod of Whitby in 664. He returned to Iona following the defeat of his arguments in favour of the Roman style of Christianity.
