Colchester

Formerly known as Camulodunum. Located in the county of Essex and was the administrative center. It was founded by the ruler Cunobelinus in the 1st century. Colchester had a good trading relationship with the Romans which probably explains why the town was destroyed and its inhabitants killed by Boadicea of the Iceni in 61 A.D.
