Anglo Saxon Chronicles

A history of Anglo Saxon England. It comprises of seven manuscripts and is thought to have begun under the direction of Alfred the Great and continues to 1154 - more than 100 years after the Battle of Hastings. It is from these writings that most of our knowledge of the time has come.
